NetLibrary to Distribute eBook Versions of All Future Bestsellers from O'Reilly & Associates

BOULDER, COLO. – March 30, 2000 – NetLibrary™, a leading provider of eBooks and Internet-based content/collection management services, today announced that it will begin to carry all frontlist and backlist bestsellers from O'Reilly & Associates, bringing the total number of the publisher's books in the NetLibrary collection to more than 160 titles.

O'Reilly & Associates has won the respect of book buyers the world over by anticipating new technological trends and quickly publishing authoritative guides. O'Reilly books cover programming languages such as Perl and Java, and are a leading source of information on Linux and other open source software technologies. NetLibrary carries numerous O'Reilly titles, including Larry Wall's "Programming Perl" and titles from the popular Nutshell Series.

"NetLibrary is a great vehicle for distributing our technology titles, as well as O'Reilly eBooks on a variety of other topics," O'Reilly & Associates CEO Tim O'Reilly. "NetLibrary provides O'Reilly & Associates an important presence in the library market and greater direct access to consumers over the Internet."

Although O'Reilly is best known for authoritative guides on new technologies, the publisher is making inroads into other areas, such as health issues. New O'Reilly titles recently added to NetLibrary include the popular Patient-Centered Guides. This series provides a mix of medical, practical, and emotional information created by writers and editors who have encountered illnesses that have threatened or changed their lives.

"As our relationship with O'Reilly continues to grow, NetLibrary's customers are rewarded with authoritative and interesting content," said NetLibrary Chief Operating Officer Nancy Talmey. "O'Reilly's computer books and Patient-Centered Guides are very popular with our library customers. By providing them as eBooks, we allow libraries to offer their patrons round-the-clock access to these titles."
