NetLibrary Introduces Interactive OnLine eBook Catalog
TitleSelect™ Enables Customers to Build eBook Collections with Ease
BOULDER, COLO. – May 15, 2001 - NetLibrary™, the leading provider of eBooks and Internet-based content/collection management services, today announced the availability of TitleSelect™, a new online catalog that will facilitate faster and easier selection of titles, collections and order placement by acquisitions and collections librarians in all types of libraries.
NetLibrary’s extensive eBook catalog has grown to more than 35,000 copyrighted titles. With TitleSelect, customers can explore the entire collection, searching by author, title, publisher, subject, keyword, NetLibrary ISBN, print ISBN, eBook ID and publication date. Users can also use TitleSelect to customize existing NetLibrary collections to meet their specific library’s needs. Once a title list is prepared, the user can download or email it to colleagues for review, and then place an order with NetLibrary online. TitleSelect also allows online tracking of order status.
“As the number of NetLibrary eBooks has grown, customers have asked us for a way to more easily search our titles in order to build their eBook collections. We’re pleased to introduce this new tool designed largely with customer input”, said NetLibrary Executive Vice President of Sales Rich Rosy. “TitleSelect will prove a valuable tool, and we are already working with librarians on defining additional enhancements to be available in the coming months.”
eBooks are full-text electronic versions of published books that library patrons
can search, borrow, read, and return via the Internet. With NetLibrary eBooks,
users can access library resources anywhere, anytime, and perform full-text searches
across hundreds of books or within a specific book to speed research and reference
projects. These books can be viewed online from the library, office, home, or remote
location using an Internet browser, or can be downloaded to a laptop. Added benefits
include an embedded dictionary in each book with accompanying visuals and verbal
pronunciation, as well as hyperlinks from both the table of contents and index. eBooks
are available for varying checkout periods and are automatically checked back into
the library collection when the checkout period expires.
