"Frommer's Irreverent Guide to Manhattan, 5th Edition" Selected as August eBook of the Month
Monthly content promotion provides free access to new and notable releases

BOULDER, COLO.— NetLibrary, in partnership with Wiley Publishing Inc., has selected “Frommer's Irreverent Guide to Manhattan” as the August eBook of the Month. Full of insider information on The City that Never Sleeps, the “Irreverent Guide to Manhattan” will be provided with unlimited access August 1-31 to more than 12,000 member libraries and their patrons.

Frommer's series of Irreverent Travel Guides are wickedly irreverent, unabashedly honest, and downright hilarious. Praised by readers and critics alike, Irreverent Guides provide an insider’s perspective on what attractions are overrated and where to find the secret gems. It’s "like being taken around by a savvy local," according to The New York Times.

Written by Ethan Wolff, “The Irreverent Guide to Manhattan” provides the straight scoop on old chestnuts like the Empire State Building, as well as the skinny on new hotspots such as the sleek "neo-lounges" on the Lower East Side. With the Irreverent Guide, readers become as mobile as the locals: a dim sum brunch in a bustling Chinatown banquet hall is just a subway ride away from a soul-food dinner in Harlem.

Throughout August, patrons of member libraries will be able to access the full text of “Frommer's Irreverent Guide to Manhattan” from in-library computers or by logging into NetLibrary as a remote user. To help promote the eBook of the Month program, NetLibrary will provide participating libraries with sample press releases, banners and other promotional resources that can be downloaded from the NetLibrary site.

In coming months, NetLibrary will highlight new, noteworthy and award-winning titles selected from our catalog of more than 70,000 eBooks. In many cases, titles will be selected that support industry-wide literacy and awareness initiatives, including Black History Month, Women's History Month and National Poetry month.
