NetLibrary Unveils New Identity and Branding Strategy
New Identity Reflects NetLibrary’s Evolution as an eContent Provider
Boulder, Colo.—NetLibrary, the leading provider of eContent services to the institutional library market, today announced the official launch of a new identity that reflects NetLibrary’s evolution as an eContent provider. The new mark is the company's first visual identity change since launching its Web site in May 2000. The rebranding will help align NetLibrary’s identity with corporate parent OCLC Online Computer Library Center and more accurately reflects the growing range of content and services now available through the Boulder, Colo.-based eContent provider.
"The NetLibrary logo and eBook symbol have been an excellent reflection of our core business over the last five years and has become one of the library industry’s most recognizable marks,” said Rich Rosy, OCLC Corporate Vice President. “While the eBook identity accurately reflects our origins as a pioneer in the eBook category, it is no longer representative of who we are today. The new mark signals the full integration of NetLibrary into the OCLC organization and symbolizes the broader range of products and services we now offer.”
The introduction of NetLibrary’s new identity coincides with the launch of new NetLibrary products and services that will provide libraries and their patrons with a broader range of eContent. In addition to a catalog of more than 75,000 eBooks, NetLibrary now offers a growing collection of eJournals and databases, and has announced the December launch of a new Digital Audiobook offering.
NetLibrary plans a phased introduction for the new identity, which will include the NetLibrary Web site and all print and electronic support materials, over the next few months. Identity elements can be viewed and are available for download from:
